If you have a Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, or a PSVita, and have missed Metal Slug in the slightest, then Mercenary Kings Reloaded is a must needed addition to your collection. Not only does it offer tons of content that can be replayed at any time in co-op, it also packs in innovative additions that ultimately result in more content for players to enjoy. It may just be nostalgia, but for its price, Mercenary Kings Reloaded feels like a perfectly fair package. While its narrative can be cliché at times, Mercenary Kings Reloaded packs many unique futures that further perfect its fluid gameplay, delivering an overall package that is not only unique, but feels like something special in 2018. For a game that originally started as a Kickstarter project, Mercenary Kings Reloaded brilliantly relives the best of Metal Slug. By releasing the reloaded version, Tribute Games has included a bunch of extra content, including all new knives, guns, and much more. Mercenary Kings Reloaded is a “deluxe” edition of Mercenary Kings, a title made by Tribute Games, and fully funded on KickStarter back in 2014. During my time with the game, I found that playing it on the handheld mode made the entire experience vastly superior, as It provided me with the nostalgic Metal Slug experience that I have always dreamed of entirely on the go. To make matters even better, Mercenary Kings Reloaded runs perfectly on both handheld, and docked mode, stuttering so rarely that reporting it would be an unfair statement. To bundle it all perfectly, Mercenary Kings Reloaded offers a co-op mode which allows you and up to 3 other friends to take on any mission, giving Mercenary Kings Reloaded a more strategic vibe that feels right at home on the Switch.
